i held down a key for too long, and a popup asked if i wanted to set a
filter. i wasnt sure and clicked yes. now i can't repeat the same letter twice and can't use backspace to delete characters. i also hear a click when i type a character that wasnt there before. how do i reset or remove this filter? |

thank you! this solved the problem. perhaps microsoft could include the
answer in their online help. Go to the Windows Control Panel and open the Accessibility Options icon. There are three items the StickyKeys, FilterKeys, and ToggleKeys. The one you accidentally turned on is FilterKeys. Uncheck its box. To prevent any more surprises, click each of the three Settings buttons and uncheck the "Use shortcut" boxes. The backspace problem is probably something else.
