i have created a form in word which includes a 4 checkboxes. i want people
to be able to fill out this form from the computer - not by printing it out. however, when i tried to put an X in any of the blank checkbox - it wouldn't let me. i want the checkboxes to be blank by default, but i want the person to choose one and be able to put an X in it as the one they chose. thanks! karen |

Karen:
I'm assuming you used the commands on the Forms toolbar to insert the check boxes in your Word form document. To make the check boxes "work" you have to protect the document for Forms use. You can either click the Protect Form button (padlock icon) in the Forms toolbar, or click Tools Protect Document Forms. Once the document is protected, your users will only be able to change the form controls you added to the form -- check box, text, or drop-down form fields. Bear -- Windows XP, Word 2000 |
