Select Mail merge - Mailing Label - Open Data Source - "Select any access DB"
and then the app freezes and the status bar displays "Waiting for MS Access to accept DDE Commands". Does anyone have a recommendations. Thanks, Phil |

First, try using Alt-tab to see if Access has opened a login window behind
Word (i.e. that you cannot see). Peter Jamieson "Phil" wrote in message ... Has this worked before?
Which version of Word/Access are you using? If you open Access and look at Tools|Options|Advanced, is "Ignore DDE Requests" checked? If you leave Access open, then try again, does Word connect successfully? If not, if you also open the database you are trying to use, in Access, then try again, does WOrd connect successfully? -- Peter Jamieson http://tips.pjmsn.me.uk "Phil" wrote in message ... It has worked for years.
I'm running Office 2000 Pro on Windows 2000 OS. Ignore DDE requests is not checked. I have to kill Word (Task Mgr) because it locks up. If I retry, it still does not work. If I reverse course and try to launch Word from Access, it still locks up. "Peter Jamieson" wrote: Has this worked before? Which version of Word/Access are you using?
