Default Page break in table document

It is my understanding that Word should automatically put page breaks in a
table based upon the size of the page, etc. I have a document that is a
table that does not have the page breaks, and will not do so automatically.
I do not really want to have to put manual page breaks in this 30+ page
document. Can you point me to where I can force it to do the automatic page
break? Thanks in advance for your help.
