Default Save changes to global template, Normal

Having read all the other threads relating to this message mysteriously
appearing on exiting Word and the suggestion that the cause is Norton related:

I have unchecked the box next to "Turn on Scanning for Microsoft Office
Documents" under Advanced Option - Miscellaneous on my NIS 2007. I would,
therefore, expect this feature to be switched off.

When I open an existing Word document the message 'Requesting virus scan'
still appears briefly along the bottom of the MSWord window. If I open Word,
displaying Document 1, and shut it again without doing anything it still
wants to
save my global template, Normal.

I am using Word 2002 and am not running any other Word Add ins. (I have
checked using the various advice in other threads.)

Again following advice found in other threads I have tried to deregister
officeav.dll but get an error message 0x8002801c.

I have raised the issue with Symantec but they're currently saying that it's
a Word problem and nothing to do with them.

Has anyone any other suggestions? Thanks.

(I regularly perform a Live Update and a virus scan.)
