Default Word key assignments

Hey,

This may be a bit of an unusal question, but hopefully someone can help me
with it... There are some keys like Ctrl+= which is programmed in word to
give you subscript, or Ctrl+Shift+= which is programmed to give you
superscript.

However, I've changed my keyboard layout so that Ctrl+= is actually a letter
in another languages alphabet for when I write to other countries. (Using the
ms keyboard editor). This works fine in all programs I've so far tried
including ie, ms publisher wordpad and many others.....However in Word this
has a special assignment. So I went into (Tools-Customize-Keyboard) and
removed these special assignments from the normal.dot file. However, when
using word (and only word) I can't use these keys. Works fine if I write an
email or anywhere just not word. And since I took it out of the keyboard
commands for word I'm not sure why word is not allowing them to work.

Just an FYI, now that I removed the sub/superscript setting it just does
nothing when I hit that key combo.

Any suggestions of other hidden settings I don't know about?

I'm not sure why Word does or does not pay attention to your keyboard editor
changes. However, you can make the same assignments in Word as you made in
the keyboard editor.

You should note, however, that you can specify WHICH TEMPLATE keyboard
customizations are stored in. You may not want to store them in Normal.dot,
which will make them effective in all Word documents.

You might choose to create a template just to hold those customizations, and
bring it into and out of effect by storing it in your Startup (Word Startup,
not Windows Startup) folder and checking or clearing the corresponding check
box in Tools Templates and Add-ins.
