WordArt in Header of Word 2003
I inserted WordArt in a header for use as a Watermark in Word 2003. Now I
can't delete it. The WordArt shows up with its size and position handles, and I can edit the WordArt text unless I try to delete all the letters in the text, in which case when I delete the one last letter the "OK" button grays out. Nor can I "Cut" or Delete the WordArt. My secretary is working on the same document on a different computer and has the same problem. The best we have been able to do is to format the WordArt for No Fill and No Lines - which makes the text invisible as far as we can tell, but I'm concerned that it may show up under some weird circumstance. -- Jim (a.k.a. When you are in the header pane, it should be possible to select the entire
WordArt object and delete it. Are you saying this doesn't work for you? -- Suzanne S. Yes, I can select the entire WordArt object, rotate it, move it, etc. but I
can't delete it or "cut" it or delete all the letters in the Wordart. However, after positing this I did find a way to delete it, and that is to delete the entire header including the paragraph mark where to which the WordArt is anchored. That deleted the WordArt but of course I had to go back then and re-enter the part of the header that I wanted to retain. Not great, but good enough. -- Jim (a.k.a. ORTNPALMS) "Suzanne S. Very odd, too. I can't imagine what would cause this.
