In my doc, I have multiple instances of an apostrophe (') being replaced by
an equals sign (=). I can't get Find & Replace to correct this. Suggestions? Thanks! Larry |

Couple of questions. What version of Word„˘ are you using?
Are you saying that your apostrophe (') are automatically being replaced with = symbols? Or do you WANT to find all ' and replace them with "=" symbols? Which? Find and Replace should work straight forward on find ' then replace with = "Larry8686" wrote: In my doc, I have multiple instances of an apostrophe (') being replaced by an equals sign (=). Sorry. Lemme clarify. I am using Office Word 2003. When I created the
document, all was well. Then something happened which replaced all apostrophe's with =. So the word isn't appears as isn=t. I've tried a straight-forward Find & Replace but it says no instances can be found. It just doesn't recognize the equal signs. "JR Hester" wrote: Couple of questions. Apologies, I am unable to test on 2003. Works on the version. You don't by
chance have a leading or training space on your find entry do you? "Larry8686" wrote: Sorry. Lemme clarify. I am using Office Word 2003. When I created the document, all was well. That substitution is typical of a document that was created in, or partially
copied from, WordPerfect. See http://groups.google.com/group/micro...429a00adf50ce0. You may have better luck finding an apostrophe formatted with WP Typographic Symbol font and replacing it with an apostrophe formatted with Times New Roman (or whatever your base font is). -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
