Default Conversion from Office 2003 to 2007

I have a user that loses headers and footers when converting files from
office 2003 to office 2007. Also some fonts do not convert. Any help would be
greatly appreciated

how exactly is the user converting his DOC files to DOCX?

Fonts usually are _not_ saved in either format, so if the used fonts are
installed on the PC with Word 2007, then there should be no problem.
