Default Page numbering from THIRD page - Word 2007

I need to start page numbering from page Three (ie the third page in the
document should be numbered "1"). Help tells me how to number from page TWO,
but not from any other page. How do I do this? (Yet another TOTALLY
un-intuitive part of Word - you should be able to select the page, go to
Page numbers - do you want to start numbering from this page? or is that a
bit difficult MS?)

Insert a section break after page two and start the numbering in the second
section.

OK - I set the cursor at the top of page 3, go to Page layout,
Breaks-Section breaks and use the Continuous choice.
I can then insert Page numbers so that Page 3 is numbered page1. Page 1 and
2 ALSO have numbers on them. If I click in Page 1 and choose "remove Page
numbers" it removes ALL THE NUMBERS IN THE WHOLE DOCUMENT!
How do I get page numbering ONLY from page three? WHY is this SO DIFFICULT?

You must unlink the header/footer in Section 2 from the one(s) in Section 1
before you delete anything. See
