Default Eleminating delete key y/n prompt in word 2003

I have only 2 options for WordPerfect in general tab and they both are clear.
Delete key still will not delete blocked text, works great for single
characters though.

On the Edit tab, check the "Typing replaces selection" option. Does that
help?

Also, please note that it will be a lot easier to keep track of the messages
on a certain topic if you post them as replies, not as an entirely new
thread.

The only known reason for getting the Delete Block prompt in any version of
Word is that one or both of the WordPerfect options is/are enabled.

Actually, the "Typing replaces selection" option should affect the Backspace
key, not the Delete key.

Are you saying that the Yes/No prompt is still there, although the options
are not checked? Then it is *possible* that you need to delete the Data key
in the registry. See
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/apperrors/missingmenusetc.htm.

The "Typing replaces selection" is checked. With the 2 WordPerfect options
cleared I no longer see the y/n prompt, but the delete key has no effect on
blocked text only single characters.
