My installation of Word 2007 does not save **any** autorecover files in this
directory.. or anywhere else for that matter. This is the directory it's set to in Word Options. I've reinstalled Office 2007 with brand new discs, and the same thing still happens. No autorecover files. I've set the AutoRecover save time from 1 to 10 minutes. No changes. Phone tech support from MS doesn't help. I just spend hours doing the same things over and over again. This is XP SP2. Word 2007. From Office Small Business 2007. |

![]() Try setting the save time to 1 minute; open the folder that should contain the AutoRecover files Open a Word document; change any of the content in the document but do not save the document; you must make a change(s) and then not save the document until after the specified interval has passed and in this case until you have examined the designated folder In 1 about 1 minute you should see a *.asd AutoRecover file in the folder When you save the document, the AutoRecover file will disappear from the folder "prd" wrote: My installation of Word 2007 does not save **any** autorecover files in this directory.. or anywhere else for that matter. ![]() I neglected to mention that if open a document and you don't make any changes in the document, no *.asd file will be created. I've been through this drill several times with phone support.. and to no
avail. For some reason an *.asd file is never written to the folder. We did repair from the Office 2007 discs (from two different sets of discs). Something is preventing that file from being written. Are there any other settings or registry values that deal with autorecover. Somewhere other than Word Options? It works in Excel.. but not in Word.
