In a word document how to I format text so that it can be seen on screen but
does not print? eg. in a header there is information for my own use but I do not want to print it. |

You can format the text as hidden, via the Font dialog box or by pressing
Ctrl+Shift+H, and set it to display but not to print. The display and printing of hidden text are controlled via Tools | Options, View and Print tab, respectively (Word 97-2003). In Word 2007, the corresponding settings are found in Office button | Word Options, Display category: Check "Hidden text" (under "Always show these formatting marks on the screen") and clear "Print hidden text" (under "Printing options"). -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Vicar" wrote in message ...
