Default Default columns for Word documents

Somehow my mother managed to change the default column setting for all Word
documents from one-column to three-column documents. Any idea how I can
change my settings back to one-column so every time I open up a new Word
document I don't have to manually change it?

and do the neceesary changes to one-column.
