I would find it helpful if you could provide a way to place parenthesis at
either end of selected text. Same way you can select text and make it bold with the lick of a button. ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. Wouldn't hold my breath on this one:-) Parens are characters just like
a,b,c,1,2,3,%,#, etc. There's a big difference between inserting new characters in the right places as opposed to simply changing the *formatting* of characters that are already there. You might consider making a macro for this type of procedure if you really find click 'n' type of parens to be a problem:-) - it really dosn't require much other than cut & paste. -- Regards |:) Bob Jones [MVP] Office:Mac "gordyb" wrote in message ... Provided Find is finding exactly the text you're looking for, you can
actually do this. In the "Find what" box, type whatever it is you're using to find the text and select it. In the "Replace with" type: (^&) where ^& represents "Find What Text" (that is, the text you found). -- Suzanne S. The macro here adds quotation marks around selected text (link may break)
http://preview.tinyurl.com/34om8s You'll need to change the Chr codes to match parenthesis--ask in a group with VBA or Programming in the name (or here), for help with that. gordyb wrote: I would find it helpful if you could provide a way to place parenthesis at either end of selected text.
