CHK files are file fragments created by the disk checking programs CHKDSK or SCANDISK when there are read errors or bad sectors. You can try to rename them as .JPG files and see if they'll open, but the odds are that they won't. You can try one of the tools from http://www.ericphelps.com/uncheck/index.htm to see if you can recover anything. If they were text files you might stand a good chance of getting part or all of the text, but images are likely to be jumbled. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |
