Hi;
The big, white space is for the text of your question. Where you put it is intended for just the subject. But hey! What's life without a little freedom to experiment? ;-)) As a practical matter, Terry is correct. However, if what was not saved has high value, you could immediately shut down the computer, remove the hard drive from the computer and attach it to another computer. Be sure to set the drive's jumpers properly (not applicable to most SATA drives). Then you can install a Disk Editor and look for the missing file. It might be scattered about the drive. You would have to hand assemble the file. I doubt if you could recover it complete with formatting but recovery of most text is possible.
