You can download the Compatibility Pack from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
and install it.

Or you can ask the sender to save the document in the Word 97-2003 format
and send that instead. (If they don't know how, tell them to click the
Office button, hover the mouse over the Save As item, and click the Word
97-2003 Document item.)
Hope this helps

You could download and install the compatibility pack from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en.

It shouldn't be necessary, though -- tell the employee to use the Save As
command in Word 2007 and choose the "Word 97-2003 Document" format.

While you *could* tell this person to save the doc in an earlier
format, I suggest you download the compatibility pack. Its simple and
painless. This will not be the last docx, xlsx, pptx, etcx that you
will receive. As 2007 propagates through the user community, you won't
be able to tell everybody that sends you something to save their files
in an older version.
