Default Question about indenting

I have a document I am finalizing .. I have this set up as a Directory ..
after going to Mailings .. then I chose a landscape page, 2 columns, my first
line is as follows:

Employee.......................................... .............Position
Address, Telephone Number

Then a doublespace and my next entry ..

I am trying to indent the second line of each employee .. I've set a tab and
all goes well for a few names then Word seems to want to indent the whole
group of name down through the rest of the page.

Is there an easy way to do this or am I going to have to go down and space
the second line of each employee's name .. hope not as I have 1,050 employees
...

What am I doing wrong? .. I would appreciate any help .. ..

Default Question about indenting

Put each entry in a single paragraph with a hanging indent. End the first
line with a line break (Shift+Enter). Don't press Enter twice after the
paragraph break; instead, add some Space After to the paragraph.

Default Question about indenting

What part of those instructions don't you understand? The hanging indent?
The line break? Or Space After?

Default Question about indenting

There are three ways to create a hanging indent:

1. You can drag the Hanging Indent marker on the ruler (see
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/formatting/UsingRulers.htm); that's definitely the
easiest way, and you can set it wherever you want.

2. You can use Ctrl+T to set a hanging indent at the first built-in tab stop
(0.5" by default); each time you press Ctrl+T advances to the next built-in
tab stop.

3. You can set the indent exactly in the Format | Paragraph dialog (Special:
Hanging).

I'd advise incorporating the hanging indent and Space After in a style that
can be applied to all the relevant paragraphs. Or you can use the built-in
List style, which has a 0.25" hanging indent. Just modify that style to have
the desired amount of Space After.
