Default Using enter to add new line

I am trying to create an invitation and wish to add new lines - my 'enter'
key will not allow me to do this. Have I got something turned on or off to
stop this from working.

How did you format the invitation? Could you be typing in a table cell or
text box with fixed dimensions?
