I hope this is the correct forum. I can't find a forum for Office Mobile
software. I copied a 2 page document (docx) to my device. When I open it in Office Mobile 6.1 I get a notice that it is protected and I can not edit it. I can only view it. |

There is an update for Office Mobile that will let you edit Office 2007
documents. I'm assuming that you've either installed the update, or that it came on your device (released 28 November 2007, so probably the former): http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en However, the 6.1 upgrade isn't sophisticated enough to be able to edit documents that are password or rights protected. If you're trying to edit such a file, you will need to unprotect it first using the desktop version of Office 2007. -- Herb Tyson MS MVP Author of the Word 2007 Bible Blog: http://word2007bible.herbtyson.com Web: http://www.herbtyson.com "Bob" wrote in message ... I'm not sure, but the problem seems to be that the document has a Table of
Contents. If I create a document on my laprop with out the TOC I can edit it on my device "Herb Tyson [MVP]" wrote: There is an update for Office Mobile that will let you edit Office 2007 documents. Hmmm... I have not hit that problem. I just placed a .docx file onto my
smartphone (SCH-I760). It has a table of contents, and it opens just fine for editing. -- Herb Tyson MS MVP Author of the Word 2007 Bible Blog: http://word2007bible.herbtyson.com Web: http://www.herbtyson.com "Bob" wrote in message ... I just noticed something. I created a Word2007 document om my laptop and
saved it at 6:30 AM. After I copied it to the storage card of my device and opened Moble Word 6.1 it appears as 1:30AM (no date) in the file date column of the file open screen. Sure.
Another possibility is that the file contains other elements that Office Mobile 6.1 can't handle.
