I am using word 2003 but also have access to word 2007 if that helps my issue.
I am trying to use a table that includes four columns. one column of check boxes as well a column of drop down lists with the remaining two columns being text (i can't use them as a form text boxes as I need to edit and delete the text in a way that making them text boxes doesn't jive with) I would like to know if there is a way to use a check box and drop down list in the table without locking the entire page. I know these are funtions of a "form" but I am not creating a form. The user has to be able to do more and add and delete text freely - but I would also like them to use the form functions of a check box and drop down list. Is this possible? I can not do a section break and lock a partial section as I am using a table with columns in each section. So I have no way of making the check boxes in a separate section as word doesn't seem to allow you to take a table and break that into sections. I need the columns side by side going across the same page - so section breaks don't work. Help! Is there any way to allow these "form" functions without locking your document? Macros? If a macro - I have NO CLUE how to record or use them. Thanks |

That's described at http://gregmaxey.mvps.org/Add_Toggle_Objects.htm. You'll also need the instructions at http://www.gmayor.com/installing_macro.htm. To make dropdown lists that work without form protection, you _might_ be able to use AutoTextList fields -- see http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFl...toTextList.htm. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |
