Default Screentip translation always shows "not in dictionary"

I write in both English and Spanish, so the screentip translation feature of
Word 2007 is particularly appealing, but it ALWAYS responds "not in
dictionary" in the screen tip.

A document in English, or Spanish, will spell check without any difficulty.
But I don't see anyway to specify the "main" spell check dictionaries for use
with the screentips. Does anybody else have this problem? After searching
the web, Word Help, Microsoft.com, and the user groups I haven't found a
solution to this problem or other users that report similar difficulties.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
