I have a merged field called TOTAL that shows 73
How do I format his this to show $73.00

If it is a true merge field, then you type the $ and the .00 in the data
source. If it is a formula, you ask for it in the number format.

You add a formatting switch to the merge field. In this case, it would be \#
$#.00. See Word's Help topic "Numeric Picture (\#) field switch" and
