I'd like to be able to quickly switch between two fonts or font colors
without breaking my stream of typing, just as I can go between styles (italicized, bold, etc.) while typing. Is it possible to make a shortcut that will do this? |

You can define a character style and assign a keyboard shortcut to it.

Follow the instructions in http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Custom...roToHotkey.htm except in step 2 select the Fonts category instead of "All commands". -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |

Thanks for your answers.
I did what Ms. Barnhill suggested, but when I switch styles it changes my entire paragraph to the new style. Mr. Freedman's suggestion works for changing fonts in mid-paragraph, but I wasn't able to figure out how to switch colors using his way. "Suzanne S. It appears that you have created a paragraph style rather than a character
style. See the beginning of http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/StyleRef.htm for instructions on creating a character style. I assure you I routinely use character styles to format the font and other formatting of text (both selected text and text yet to be typed). -- Suzanne S.
