Default Header/footer disappears when I email a word document!

I have a weird problem and can't seem to find any reference to it in
any help files.

Basically, I created a document to act as as a letterhead, with a logo
in the header and address details in the footer. I then created the
text in the main body and emailed it to someone. They say they don't
have the logo header or footer in the document. This is not the first
time this has happened either. It's as though the header/footers
aren;t embedded in the document I'm sending but stored seperately or
someting.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received!!

Tell them to have a look at
http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/WhiteSpace.htm. Or, if they're opening
the attachment directly, they may be opening in Reading Layout view.
