Pasted material not matching destination formatting
I have set Word 2007 options to paste material between documents to match the
destination formatting. However, when I paste material from a Word 2007 document into one of my templates (that I created) that has the same style names as the source, Word goes ahead and pastes all the material with the Normal style. I have to go in and re-format each paragraph. For example, Heading 1 in the source document gets pasted in as Normal in the destination document, even though the destination has a Heading 1 style. Any suggestions on what can be causing this? When I use the insert file, command, the text is inserted properly. Note that I have all the paste option settings set to Match Destination Formatting. |

Pasted material not matching destination formatting
The options you have chosen will adjust the formatting of the copied
paragraphs according to the formatting at the insertion point (see Word Help). Instead, to get the effect you want, you should choose the *default* settings for pasting within and between documents, found under "Cut, copy, and paste" in Office button | Word Options, Advanced category. Especially note the importance of the "Use Destination Styles (Default)" option, which makes sure that styles are preserved when copying between documents (but of course the definition of the style in the target document will be applied). -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "John9210" wrote in message ...
