Hi,
I am thinking about whether I should use UserForm or Mail Merge to create a document in which many places are to be variables. For example, I want some names or addresses inside to be varied occasionally. Therefore, should I use UserFrom or Mail Merge? Which one has more advantages? Thanks. David |

If the object is to produce just one document at a time, I would suggest
using userforms and fields. http://www.gmayor.com/Macrobutton.htm may help. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org cyberdude wrote: Hi, I am thinking about whether I should use UserForm or Mail Merge to create a document in which many places are to be variables. ![]() Hi, But what are the advantages of Userform over Mail Merge in my case? Thank you. David As you have given very little information (still) about your case, it remains difficult to be specific, but *in general* mail merge is best suited to producing lots of similar documents using variable data from an external source. While mail merge can be used to produce single documents, other methods, such as on-line forms, userforms or even macrobutton fields are often simpler for such documents. So rule of thumb - lots of docs = mail merge, individual docs = use some other method. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org |
