eps image appears rotated in word.
Hi,
I inserted a eps file into a word document. As has been mentioned elsewhere it has a low quality preview but prints excellently. My only trouble is that my eps is somehow rotated. ("landscaped") but I wanted the other orientation. If I try Format Picture the rotation option is grayed out. Does anybody know a way out? Or is there a option I must supply before I make my eps file. I'm not sure if eps contains an embedded orientation info or is that up to the rendering software? -Rahul |

Hi Rahul,
What version of Word are you using? What is the date of the EPS32IMP.FLT file on the computer? Is the text wrapping for the graphic set for something other than 'inline with text'? With Word 2003 or 2007 you can rotate inserted ..EPS graphics. What app are you using to create the .EPS graphic? =============== "Rahul" wrote in message ... Hi Bob, Thanks for our reply! Word Version: Microsoft Word 2002 SP3 (10.6612.6626). The graphic is indeed set to "Inline with Text". That's the only format I use. (Interestingly if I change it to "square" then the rotation option is ungrayed!; But that's irrelevant because on subsequent print operations the image is grainy and greatly degraded. So I suspect clicking "square" for some reason causes word to internally convert it to a tiff etc.; I wonder if this is a bug?) Finally, the ps was created through "gnuplot". I did import the ps directly into word. Not sure if there is a difference between a ps and an eps. About the eps32imp.flt file: I'm sorry I couldn't locate that one yet; can you guide me to a path I should be looking at for it? Oh yes, I also tried to convert the ps to a pdf using the Linux command line utiliity ps2pdf. The resultant pdf does open in the correct orientation in Adobe Reader and xpdf. The filter is in a folder similar to this:

Sorry for the delay in getting back. The forum page was just not allowing me to post a reply from my PC. I have no clue whay. So had to wait till now when I found another PC where it works. EPSIMP32.FLT: Create Date: July 23 2003. Modified Date: July 23 2003. Accessed Date: Feb 7 2008. Does that help in diagnosing my eps troubles? Thanks!
