Default Text from previous doc keeps reappearing when opening Word

When opening Word, text from a previous document automatically appears. When
I click on new document I get a new file name (Document2) but the text is
still there. Any help would be appreciated.

You have saved the document as normal.dot - see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...ocNotBlank.htm

Your normal.dot probably got corrupted. Search for it (make sure you set
FOoder Options to Show Hidden Files) and delete it. Then restart Word.
NOte: If while closing Word you are asked if you want to save changes to the
global template, the answer is nealrt always NO. That message means that
some changes have been made to the template. Unless you specifically made
some changes to the normal.dot, never OK any changes.

Turn on display of hidden files and folders, as explained in the
article that Sammy cited.
