Default Having trouble printing a booklet

I downloaded a small booklet templet from the Microsoft website. It was for a
letter size paper to be folded in half. The resulting booklet is 8.25 x 5.5".
Anyway - when I print to my LaserJet 4000 printer, it will not print in the
proper order (using manual Duplex). I do not think it is the document. I am
able to print from an Officejet G85xi. I need to print on the laser printer
but cannot figure out what is going on. from page 7 on, it is out of order,
on the wrong side of the page, etc. I have even tried starting
over...thinking that maybe there was a hidden format code that was causing
the problem. No luck. I have tried updating my printer driver and that does
not seem to help either.

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

In what order are the pages printing? For an 8-page booklet, for example,
the correct page order would be:

8 and 1
2 and 7
6 and 3
4 and 5

I resolved the problem. I found a different printer driver (PCL 5e) and it
fixed the problem. thank you for replying so quickly to my question. ..
