squares instead of text
I work for a school district. I have allowed the students to use pen drives
to bring back and forth from home to school. I have a student that has saved a word doc to her pen drive and when she opens it here at the school, she gets squares instead of text. it has happened to her at home as well. she was able to open it once, but then, the second time it was sqares. Can you help me please? |

squares instead of text
Hi Dan-
Either or both of two factors are probably at play here. First, encourage the users to _not_ open directly from or _save_ directly to any type of removable media. It is one of the easiest & surest ways to corrupt an Office document. Always copy to the hard drive, edit that, & copy back to the removable for transporting. Second, there could also be a font problem. Perhaps the student is using a font on the home system that isn't available on the school system. Try to make sure the users work with standard fonts installed on any systems where the docs will be used. HTH |:) "Dan" wrote: I work for a school district.
