Default how do I stop autodate

How do I stop Word (and Outlook with Word as the email editor) from
automatically changing "2007" to "2007-01-05" when I hit enter. I would
like to turn the feature off rather than make extra keystrokes every time.
Thanks

Press Spacebar or Tab before pressing Enter. Seriously.

So it can't be turned off! That's what I thought.
Just too helpful is Word sometimes.

Oddly, not everyone experiences this, but for those who do, it is a major
annoyance. UK users usually blame it on US-centric programming, but it's not
like we use that format much in the US, either.
