why do I get smart quotes when I try to insert the @ symbol
Word 2003
It just started happening. I get smart " in place of the @ symbol when I try to insert shift 2. I have tried to change the language to English (US) but nothing seems to work. Please help |

You don't say what you have done, so ..
1. Try pressing Left-Alt+Shift to switch keyboard 2. If that fails, show the language bar and click on the name of the current keyboard which says, perhaps, "English (United Kingdom)" to get a dropdown of available keyboards and select the one you want. -- Enjoy, Tony "JeffR" wrote in message ...
