Default Word not accepting a language change

I have a Word document that, for some reason, is using a UK dictionary. I've
changed the language setting (to US) but it doesn't seem to stick.

I looked at the Normal template and it's set to US.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Tom

I may have found the answer on another thread. It appears there's an issue
with Adobe 7 installed (which I have).

I'll post again if that thread doesn't work.
