They are still valid for current versions, with the exception that
references to Normal.dot should be read as references to Normal.dotm.

My version of Word 2007 was crashing everytime I opened it, no matter

was an old document or a new one. I found that there is a conflict
with
the
printers used by XP so deleting the printers solved the problem! I was
able
to reinstall the printers once Word started working. Just a suggestion
for
those having similar problems.
