Default Grammar/spell check settings saved with document or specific to us

Trying to figure out if you hide the spell-checking and grammar format marks
in a document, then save it and send it to someone else - will they see the
spell check/grammar marks - or will it be hidden because I hid them before
sending to them.

CTRL+A tools language set language - do not check spelling or grammar,
will remain with the document formatting. There will be nothing stopping
someone from changing this and revealing your spelling horrors.

Select All (Ctrl+a), Tools, Language, Set Language, check the "Do not check
spelling or grammer" and "Detect lanaguage automatically" boxes and save.
This is saved with the document and the recipient can obviously reverse this
if they wish.
Under Tools, Options, Spelling and Grammar, the two boxes for "Check
spelling as you type" and "Check grammar as you type" are settings within
your PC and do not travel with the document.
To ensure the recipient only sees what you want them to see, you could PDF
the file, but this could be too servere for your purposes.
Hope this helps

This is made clear in my article at
http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/MasterSpellCheck.htm. If you use the
"Hide" setting, that is saved with the document. It doesn't prevent explicit
spell checking, but it does suppress the display of wavy underlines
regardless of the setting on the recipient's computer. If you format the
text as "Do not check spelling or grammar," it can't be spell checked at
all, by anyone.

Note that you can keep Word from marking a word as misspelled by adding it
to your custom dictionary, but this has no effect when the document is sent
out to someone who doesn't have that word in his/her custom dictionary. If
this bothers you, you can create a character style defined as Default
Paragraph Font + Do not check spelling or grammar and apply it to words you
don't want marked as misspelled.

Thanks Suzanne. Your web page is great. I've added it to my favorites.
Microsoft Word's Help offered no help at all.
