Default Mailmerge Printer Problem

I am using Word 2007 to print some envelopes. The process worked well until
I tried to print them.

The problem is that after one envelope the printer goes offline, so I assume
it is sent a signal it does not like?

I tried saving all 72 envelopes to a word document and printing them from
there but the same thing happens.

However if I load a standard document of several pages they all print
without the printer going off line.

Last year it worked fine with Word 2003 using the same printer.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Noel

Default Mailmerge Printer Problem

You don't say what model the printer is. My LaserJet 4, feeding envelopes
from the MP tray, would require the user to press the Online button to feed
each envelope. I did finally manage to change the printer settings so it
would take them continuously, but it required some trial and error. I think
what I had to do was set Envelope as the paper size; naturally this had to
be done for each specific job (and the printer reset to whatever the default
was afterward), so it was not worthwhile except for large jobs. Add to that
the fact that the MP tray would accommodate only 10 envelopes at a time, and
there were many times when I wished I'd gone ahead and invested $75 in the
envelope feeder!
