Default Stripping hyperlinks

Word 2007 inexplicably started stripping all hyperlinks, email addresses and
other automated information a few months ago, and I can't find anything in
the "Wor Options" sections to make it stop. I didn't ask it to do this, nor
have I made any changes in the settings prior to when this started happening.

As an example, a link such as www.yahoo.com will appear as {HPERLINK
"http://www.yahoo.com"}

Please help!!
