Default How do I show the number of pages of the Word document in toolbar

In Word before 2007, the page number is shown in the status bar (tools
options view status bar). In Word 2007 the status bar is ever present
and can be configured to display various bits of information, though page is
one of the default items. In both cases you should see the current page
unless you are working in web view as there are no pages in html.

I am unable to see on which page I am working on. I don't want the
page number printed on the document itself.
