Default Dorlands Medical Dictionary 2007

I think you are going to have to go back to basics.

Start with http://www.gmayor.com/what_to_do_when_word_crashes.htm
Make sure there are no remnants of the add-in - see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customizat...sInstalled.htm
then repair Office from the original installation CD (not from the hard
drive files)
Then work through the trouble shooting tips at
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/...peningWord.htm

Graham,

That did not help either. I am also now getting an Assertion Error
that mentions speller in the error code.

Thanks,

Word's own spell check is dependent on the language set for the
text. Select the text (CTRL+A) then apply a language for which you
have a Word dictionary installed. You can do that either from the
Review tab on the ribbon or the language button on the Word status
bar. Make sure the do not check spelling button on the ensuing
dialog is unchecked.

Graham,

I verified that Dorlands is an Add-in. Now, for some reason, when I
purposely misspell a word and perform a spell check, it finds no
errors. I did remove the Add-in for Dorland 2003.

Thanks,

If the add-in is compatible with Word 2007 then its toolbar
commands should appear under the Add-ins tab on the ribbon. If it
isn't you will probably have to wait for an upgrade to the add-in.
Your most logical source of this information is Dorlands.

I have recently upgraded to Microsoft Office 2007. I have
received the needed folder from Dorlands, however, Microsoft
Office 2003 provided an option to select Medical Dictionary under
options that does not exist in 2007. Any suggestions??

Thanks,

Mac55
