If you have Norton AntiVirus, you need to disable its Office Plug-in. If you
have another AV app, there may be a similar issue.

I really do not know what could be causing this however I may have
configured the booting of the computer at one point a year or so ago. I am
not sure if this is what is causing it to be slow and I do not know if
MSword
is one of those programs that sort of auto-loads when the computer boots.
I'm
not sure...It may be unrelated to that.
