In Word 2000, the style dropdown in the toolbar included a "default font"
option that could be used to remove a character style. In Word 2003, there is only a "Clear formatting" option, which changes the selection back to Normal, which is not what I want to do. So is there a way to just remove the character formatting so the the text uses the same font as the paragraph style? |

"Reset Char" is given as both Ctrl-Space and Ctrl-Shift-Z. "Reset
Para" is given as Ctrl-Q. On Apr 30, 8:33*am, jlm05 wrote: In Word 2000, the style dropdown in the toolbar included a "default font" option that could be used to remove a character style. Although the Ctrl+Spacebar shortcut for removing default font formatting is
(to my mind) easier than using the Style dropdown, you can certainly add Default Paragraph Font to the list. Open the Styles & Formatting task pane and choose Show: Custom, which opens the Format Settings dialog. Check the box for Default Paragraph Font and the box for "Save settings in template," and DPF will be displayed by default. You can also add any other styles you'd like displayed by default. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA "jlm05" wrote in message ...
