[up the creek]

i had been working o a document for 2-3 days saving the document at the end
of every session. today i opened the file, typed a page and scrolled back to
re-read the document, but it was gone! i cant seem to find, recover or
retrieve it..... what the...?

If on the off chance you haven't yet closed the document, use Undo to take
you back to the point where you overwrote the text with the new page.
If you have the automatically create backup option set, the backup will be
the last version before you saved.
If you have not set the backup option and you have no other backup, then the
content is gone.
