The Find function provides the option to highlight all occurrences of the
found text - via a check box. However the highlighting is not permanent like
formatting with a highlight, and is the alternative Jay hints at.

I need to highlight the repeated occurrences of a specific word in a
piece of text I am working on. Can anyone help?

First use the Highlight tool button to select the color you want (it
defaults to yellow).

Open the Replace dialog. Type the specific word into the Find What
box.

Put the cursor in the Replace With box. Click the More button, then
click the Special button and select "Find What Text". That puts the
code ^& into the box. Then click the Format button and select
Highlight, which puts the word Highlight below the box. Click the
Replace All button and then close the dialog.

Be aware that "highlighting" like this is not the same as the
"highlight" you get when you select a word. If you're editing, you
still need to go to each highlighted word to change it (or use a
different Replace operation).

To get rid of the highlighting when you're done with it, just select
everything, click the Highlight tool button, and select None.
