I need help creating running chapter numbers in sequential files. FWIW, I am
using a master document and subdocuments if that helps. I know how to continue page numbering from previous chapter but need to know how to do the same for a chapter paragraph. |

If the numbering is continuous when you view the master document but
restarts when you look at an individual document, then everything is probably working the way it is supposed to. Note, however, that not many posters use master documents, since they tend to cause corruption (see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/Wh...csCorrupt.htm). Using INCLUDETEXT fields will be a safer approach; see http://word.mvps.org/faqs/tblsfldsfm...ldscontent.htm. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Betsy Ross" wrote in message news ![]() I need help creating running chapter numbers in sequential files.
