end notes
I have cited a number of articles in one place, with consecutive end note
numbers. How can I convert the separate numbers (e.g., 2,3,4,5,6,7) to a range of numbers (e.g. 2-7) while maintaining the connection with the individual end notes. |

Insert all the footnote references (intervening spaces and punctuation are
unnecessary). Then insert an en dash after the first or before the last. Select all the references between the first and the last and format them as Hidden (Ctrl+Shift+H). The reference numbers will not be displayed, but the footnotes will be unaffected. FWIW, it is generally preferable to use a single footnote encompassing all the references cited in one place, separated by semicolons. -- Suzanne S.
