Hi,
Can anyone help and tell me what I'm doing wrong here. I'm more of an Excel person, and though I've done mailmerges aplenty before - taking Excel data into Word. I now want to get Word to do some work too, rather than having to do extra formatting work in Excel. All I want to do is display either the word 'month' or 'months' based upon what is mailmerged from Excel. { MERGEFIELD Period_Of_Time } { IF { MERGEFIELD Period_Of_Time } = "One" "month" "months" } I want it to say "One month" or "Two months", etc. It doesn't appear to be taking any notice of that IF clause, as the result is it shows "One One" or "Two Two" or "Three Three", etc. etc. Is it because What am I missing here ? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My second problem is that I can't for the life of me get the syntax correct on the following {IF {MERGEFIELD End_Date ] = "" "N/A" {MERGEFIELD End_Date \f "whichever is the earlier" } } The above works fine, but I also want to format the date to British, which I've done a load of times before by adding \@dd/MM/yyyy. Word doesn't seem to want to recognise that I want two switches on the MERGEFIELD. Putting the \f switch in makes Word 'remove' the \@dd/MM/yyyy switch. I can't get it to do the both - suffix the date field with some text and format the date as British. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for any help you can give folks. Mike. |
