[PRR]

I opened up Word 2007 after I had earlier logged out of Vista--it
froze as it tried, but eventually logged out. After logging back in,
and then opening up Word, and a saved document, I was presented with
the auto-recover pane on the left side, allowing me to let Word auto-
recover that same document. My curiosity was piqued about which of
the
two versions was the latter one. I chose to bring up the one Word had
used auto-recover for, and unfortunately it over-rode the one that
had
opened up when I clicked on it. I was hoping to compare the two to
see which one was the more recent version.

Can anyone tell me which would be wiser to use if this happens
again--
the one that Word brings up when you open up a particular document,
or
the version of that same file, in the auto-recover pane? Word is set
to save auto-recovery info every 10 minutes. I am positive that I
save
any document I work on, every 2-3 mins (I've trained myself to just
hit Ctrl+S every time I stop to gather my thoughts, stretch, etc.).
So
on this reasoning, if I saved the document 2 mins before Vista
crashed, and Word saved the auto-recover info 10 mins before it
crashed, then my saved version woudl be later, correct? Is the
difference here, which function of Word has the latest document--the
save or auto-recover?

I did look in the help file, but didn't see anything that would answer
the question.
