Thanks Suzanne. Your web page is great. I've added it to my favorites.
Microsoft Word's Help offered no help at all.

This is made clear in my article at
http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/MasterSpellCheck.htm. If you use the
"Hide" setting, that is saved with the document. It doesn't prevent
explicit
spell checking, but it does suppress the display of wavy underlines
regardless of the setting on the recipient's computer. If you format the
text as "Do not check spelling or grammar," it can't be spell checked at
all, by anyone.

Note that you can keep Word from marking a word as misspelled by adding
it
to your custom dictionary, but this has no effect when the document is
sent
out to someone who doesn't have that word in his/her custom dictionary.
If
this bothers you, you can create a character style defined as Default
Paragraph Font + Do not check spelling or grammar and apply it to words
you
don't want marked as misspelled.

Trying to figure out if you hide the spell-checking and grammar format
marks
in a document, then save it and send it to someone else - will they see
the
spell check/grammar marks - or will it be hidden because I hid them
before
sending to them.
